A University of California Research Center

The Palm Center is one of fourteen official research centers that together comprise The Institute for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Research (ISBER) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. ISBER is an Organized Research Unit for sponsored research in the social sciences and is committed to promoting interdisciplinary work that bridges boundaries among the social sciences, the humanities, the behavioral sciences, and, in some cases, the physical and life sciences.

The Palm Center is honored to be a part of this dynamic cluster of research centers, composed of over 130 principal investigators and 14 Research Centers.

In many of those countries, debate before the policy changes was highly pitched and many people both inside and outside the military predicted major disruptions, but when inclusive policies were implemented, no more than three people in each country actually resigned.
