Marc Wolf, "Another American, Asking and Telling" Panel Discussion

Date:
Sun, 08/06/2000 - 1:00am
The Center organized a panel discussion following the August 6, 2000 performance of the play “Another American: Asking and Telling” at the New Conservatory Theatre Center in San Francisco.

The play, written and performed by Marc Wolf, is based on transcripts of interviews that Wolf conducted over a three year period with several hundred veterans.

Panel participants included Marc Wolf, Aaron Belkin, Zoe Dunning, and Kate Dyer. Dunning is a board member of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network who was retained by the Navy after openly acknowledging her identity as a lesbian. Dyer served on the staff of Congressman Gerry E. Studds and played an instrumental role in obtaining and publicizing an internal Pentagon study known as the PERSEREC report that showed that gay and lesbian soldiers do not undermine military performance.
